IBM DB2

DataConnect offers the Full Experience with IBM DB2. This allows you to create queries usint a tile-based drag and drop query builder. The tile-based editor functions with IBM DB2 Provider for .NET 4.0, OLEDB and ODBC.

Do not mix and match IBM DB2 connection technologies, stick to one type (one of Provider for .NET, ODBC or OLEDB). There are IBM driver issues that will cause unpredicatable results if you use more than one connection technology type (including driver crashes).

We recommend using the IBM DB2 Provider for .NET 4.0 where available.

Create a New Connection

To create a connection to an IBM DB2 server, make sure you are on the Connections tab. Then press the (+) icon at the very left hand side of the window.

Give your Connection a Name

You then need to give your connection a name, and optionally a description.

Connection Type

You then have a choice of connection technologies. We recommend using the IBM DB2 Provider for .NET 4.0 where possible.
